Six Pivotal Games that could determine who wins the Premier League!

Manchester City vs Leicester City - February 6th

The most surprising package in the Premier League take on the favourites to win the league in what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Etihad Stadium. With how attacking both sides are, this game could be a goal-fest and with an average of 2.52 goals per game for Man City in this fixture, the history of this fixture leaves only one winner, Manchester City. However, if there's one thing we've learned this season is that we should expect the unexpected and Leicester have been proof of just that as they sit above the favourites in the table. A positive for Leicester is that Man City have struggled at home against teams in the top half of the table with 4-1 defeats to Tottenham and Liverpool and a 2-1 defeat to West Ham already being suffered in the first half of the season. Leicester will benefit from being the away team in this fixture as it will mean that Man City will have to play in to Leicester City's strength, the counter attack. With the pace of Mahrez, Vardy and Kante, City's questionable defence could be abused. However, with Robert Huth not playing brilliantly against Aston Villa on the weekend, I question how he will play when coming up against one of the world's best strikers in Sergio Aguero. I doubt either side will play for a point in order to not lose any points to the Gunners, so I expect this to be an entertaining game and the winner will no doubt get a massive boost in the race to win the Premier League.

Arsenal vs Leicester City - February 13th

Leicester go from playing one title rival to the next in what will be a massive 2 weeks for the Midland club in the title race. They will face a difficult task against the Gunners who they haven't won an away game in the league against since 1973. It seems like Arsenal are a bit of a bogey team for Leicester as the Gunners were the first team to beat Leicester this season with a 5-2 demolition job and hopefully the game at the Emirates is just as entertaining. It seems as though Arsenal are starting to step up against the big teams which has been their downfall in the title race however, similarly to the City game, with Leicester being away, it means that they can play their quick counter attacking football. This game will probably go down to the wire as both can play the same style however with Arsenal being so effective at holding possession, the outcome of the game will surely go down to how effective Arsenal are with the ball rather than just sitting in the middle of the park playing intricate football. A key factor in this game will be the result of Leicester's game against Man City. Win or Lose, Leicester will surely be up to get revenge for the earlier fixture and we could see another high scoring game.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur - February 14th

The second weekend of February gives us two cracking encounters in the title race and this has the potential to be an absolute thriller. This fixture last year was basically 'The Aguero Show' with the little Argentinian picking up 4 goals and missed a penalty in a 4-1 win. Earlier this season we were treated to another 4-1 however it was Tottenham who were victorious in one of the most shocking results in a crazy year. City can yet again rely on the that they are the home team but unfortunately for them they come up against another good counter attacking side. Alli, Eriksen, Lamela and Kane will have to be on top of their game to break down City's defence and with how well Spurs are playing at the moment, you wouldn't put it past them to get their first away win against City since 2010.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal - March 5th

This could be the most important North London Derby since 2004 where Arsenal won the league at White Hart Lane, as both sides could be in the hunt for the title when this fixture arrives. This will be the 3rd meeting between the sides this season unless they are drawn together in the FA Cup and Arsenal are unbeaten against Spurs so far (W1, D1). A Mathieu Flamini double in the League Cup 3rd Round at White Hart Lane as Arsenal won 2-1 will have Spurs itching for revenge as they have a great chance this year of getting Champions League football and if they win this game, it could be the motivation they need to go on a run until the end of the season. This is a must win game for the Gunners, we have to get revenge for Harry Kane's double last year which saw us lose 2-1 and Wenger will need the team to perform much better than they did at the Emirates where Arsenal were lucky to get a point. This game is vital for both teams, the atmosphere will be hostile, the game should be open and fast-flowing and both teams will give it their all to get all three points.

Manchester City vs Manchester United - March 19th

From the North London Derby to the Manchester Derby and potentially the biggest game of the season. United could come back and have a chance at the title however, top four will be a priority for them at this point and beating Man City will be so vital for a confidence boost. City are yet again at home and will be desperate to beat Man United as they set out to prove that it's their turn to rule Manchester. This game tends to bring last minute winners and high scoring games and I expect this to be no different. If United can continue their form that they've started the year with then they'd have a good chance at beating City and their chances will be bolstered if Rooney can maintain his solid goalscoring record recently with 6 goals in 5 games. It will probably come down to who is the more clinical team and United proved on Sunday against Liverpool that all they need is that one chance however, they will need to play much better because City have extremely good attackers in their own squad. It was a 0-0 bore draw when these two met earlier in this season but with this game's importance to the season, I'm sure we will see goals this time.

Manchester City vs Arsenal - May 7th

Potentially the game of the season takes place on the penultimate weekend of the Premier League with this game potentially deciding who will take the title. A 2-1 win from the Gunners last month at the Emirates showed Man City that if they want this title, then they are going to have to up their game. With Arsenal finally stepping up in big games, it won't be a walk over for City but their chances will be improved due to them having Vincent Kompany for this fixture, unless he gets injured again. If both sides have fully fit squads then this game could be one of the best of all time and even if the title is on the line, I can't see anyone playing for a point and 'parking the bus' because the quality of both sets of attackers will break these defences down so the key would be applying pressure to the opposition and whoever wins the midfield battle and can sustain applying high pressure for the longest will win this game and potentially win the title.
